GDM

So if any of you are wondering what GDM stands for it is Gestational Diabetes Melliutis. And you guessed it I am yet another Jensen who gets to claim hold of the daibetes gene. Pre baby having days I used to think being pregnant was no problem. Look at my mom she made it look easy! Now I know that it wasn't as easy as I once thought it was for her. So I am just going to vent about the joys of pregnancy as they are in reality for this preog mamma.

First sign of pregnancy, getting so mad at the airline people for taking my face wash that I overreacted and of course cried after I was rude to them ( I sitll think it is a stupid rule that I can't fly with face wash over 4 oz.) Sign #2 Here it comes 5 months of naseau, constipation, sleeplessness, and popsicle eating Sign #3 Horrible headeaches that last weeks sometimes (once the headaches come though I know the naseau is almost over) After those joyful months you get a little break except you start to look fat, not pregnant, just fat. This is the stage where people wonder "Is she pregnant or just chunky"? I am now in the I am so uncomfortable and tired but I still have if I am lucky 6 weeks left stage. This is the stage where you run into cute lil preggo gals who are due next week and look like they just had a big lunch and I have what seems like forever left and people say you look like you are going to pop. Whatever just let it roll off your shoulder right!! This pregnancy the next stage goes something like this; a.Oh here drink this sick sugar crap drink that makes you feel like hurling and then we will do it again next week only you get to hang out in an uncomfortable chair and not move for three hours. b. Guesse what you have gestational diabetes and we are going to put you on a diet for thanksgiving and christmas. c. Oh yeah here poke your finger til it bleeds four times a day. d. Don't eat cereal or anything good really. Soon my favorite stage will come and it is going to go something like this here are some drugs, here is your baby and then I think, "That wasn't so bad!" ahhhhh

So anyway back to the GDM, it turns out I have been eating pretty good this pregnancy and they actually want me to increase my calories. I just have to eat more protein and monitor carbs. I am supposed to snack three times a day which kinda throws me off. I get to have 30grams carbs for breakfast, 20g snack, 50g lunch, 20g snack, 50 g dinner and 30g evening snack. I haven't eaten this much my whole pregnancy. I just need to keep the blood sugar thing in check and I will be fine. It really isn't that bad just inconvienent. Dan and I are considering getting a stationary bike we found on craigslist though so if I do have that extra cookie I can bike it off. My problem is ( yeah another one) that I have low blood pressure , I get light headed and breathless, and I get contractions the second I stand up and move around. So exercise is really hard!! But boy do I miss it!!! I have been having a lot of dreams lately of being "Normal" and riding water slides, tubing, and having energy. It is my subconcsious mind telling me what my conscious mind already knows I just want to go have some serious fun Seriouslly!!!

The point of this rant is this, love your mom!! I love my mom more now that I have been prego than I did pre prego!! So thanks to all the mammas who give years of their life to bringing us into the world and then raising us!! Go mammas!!!

Update

There are pictures of Dan at about this age and he is making a sour gaggy face as he looks into a pumkin. Wyatt looks like his dad but he was definantly not afraid of any of the Halloween stuff or gaggy at the sight and feel of pumkin guts.
Both my boys get sucked into TV. If The TV is on at all it doesn't matter if it is lame comercial on I know not to speak to Dan, he is just not going to hear me. Wyatt has already started working on his zoning skills. If finding Nemo is on he is zoned! This is Saturday morning, the boys are watching finding Nemo intently. The funny thing is they have both seen this movie at least 100 times!

There is a cubbord type shelf thing in the living room where I keep Wyatts farm and blocks. Wyatt likes to climb into spots just to see if he fits. I often have to save him from being stuck under the table or in closets, etc.

So just so you all know don't leave styrafaom on the floor if you have and 18 month old. Wyatt dug his nails into this styrafoam and threw it all over the floor. I didn't freak out at all just so you know, he was having fun and I knew I would have to get the vacume out so why not just let him go crazy!!

Too Long!

It has been quite a while since I have posted anything! You know when you move and get settled and you can't find the right cords and all that jazz to get the system up and running again, well I am still kinda there. Plus our computer freezes on us ALL THE TIME!! It is not a matter of if it will freeze it is when. Anyway if anyone wants to come over and kick our computer tower into shape be my guest!

So on another note more exciting news, Dan and I found out on the 8th that we are going to have a GIRL!:) I had a little smile on my face and teary eyes when we were getting the ultrasound and the gal told us. You know that feeling when you are anxious/excited about something and your heart jumps, well I had that right before the ultrasound. I really would have been happy with another boy becuase Wyatt would have a friend but I am glad it is a girl. Now I have to focus all my chi on convincing her that she is a calm child that doesn't need to be colicky!!! I have been told by many a source that Wyatt was the worst baby ever! I say your probably right!! Now if I had two worst babies ever it just wouldn't be right don't you think!! I deserve a girl who likes to quitely read books and play with her dolls, who sleeps through the night before her 1st birthday!! What I amsaying is I would like the attributes of one of Lauras' girls. Everytime I am in Vegas I am in awe at how happy and content her babies are. Last time I was there I asked her what she eats when she is prego that makes such good babes. She just said it wasn't her but thats the way God sent them to her. So we have a boy and girl (kinda) so I guesse that means we don't have to have any more kids ha ha j/k. I just love babies too much for that to be the case!

Grass and shoes

I love this age when they start mimicking what you do! Like trying to put those big Daddy shoes on! Those are some tough shoes to fill kid! Oh yeah and whats better than a naked baby and a little grass, dirt, and rocks? Apparantly nothing if you ask Wyatt.

Lake Michigan

It has been awhile since I have written anything. So here it is first the pics, sometimes on Sunday around sunset ish we like to walk down by the lake. One such Sunday we did and I should have know better than to take Captain dirt/water baby to his Meca and not expect him to get in. So we went and Wyatt couldn't help himself but get into the freezing cold lake. He didn't want to get out even when his teeth started to chatter. He just wanted to throw that rock one more time. So the chattering stated and that was my last straw so I took him out shook him off, changing that soggy diaper and wrapped him in my hoodie. You know Wyatt really does look good in blue! Next time we went to the lake we brought swim trunks, a towel, dry cloths, a water diaper, etc. Wyatt is a true outdoors man and he is only 14 months old!!

He can walk!

Don't mind me in my awesome robe. I was talking to my mom on the phone and she was telling me how I needed to get some walking pics/videos on the blogg so here it is.

HAIR

I am having a hard time cutting Wyatts' hair. I am afraaid that if I cut it those cute lil curls will not come back, so Wyatt is sticking with the current trend of longer boy hair. I know the day will come when I have to cut it but look how cute those curls are.

Chicago-where no summer is j/k

The Bean

City view

Saying hello to the duck

Wyatt and Papa at Navy Pier.

On the boat tour Wyatt didn't really hold still too well.

Happy Birthday Wyatt

He kept the hat on for a good whole minute.

All the sweet new toys! We got wyatt some shape blocks and two$3 t-shirts. One says S is for Spider and the other one says I am the BIG brother. Yes we all know what that means. In order to be the big one there has to be a little one. So here it is I am like 8ish weeks along and I am feeling like pooh! So there it is! Wyatt also got way cooler toys from Dans parent a little peoples farm that makes farm noises, a ball, and a bunch of books. So we are set with toys for awhile! Thanks for spoiling our kido! They say that once a child is one yeat old they can do a lot of things; eat honey, dring whole milk, walk, sleep through the night ect. The one I am most thrilled about these days is sleep through the night! Wyatt started doing this about the second week we were here in Chicago. I cannot tell you how thrilled I am!!! He is also now official weened as well, he know a bottle when he sees one and he loves chocolate milk (that is how we weened him)!

Bed head and cards

This is Wyatts' awesome hair style after he woke up from his nap. He is a sweater and when you sweat and then stay in a crazy position for a couple hours this is your result. AWESOME!!

Wyatt found the Skip BO cards and was swimming in them after throwing them everywhere. It was pretty cute watching him roll around in them like they were money or something. I thought is was funny even though it was another mess to clean up he had fun :).

Wyatt's friend :)

This is a picture of Wyatt and Adelyn Abbie and Jordan Taits daughter. I was watching her this afternoon and they were both pretty fussy. I was trying to put Wyatt down for a nap while holding Adelyn. I had to run and get something so I set her in the crib for a second, I had my camera in my pocket from the sippy pictures and snapped this sad shot. They both know exactly what happens in cribs SLEEP! ha ha ha

As most babies Wyatts age Wyatt puts everything in his mouth. He took some pretty sweet chunks out of this football don't worry we fished the pieces out of his mouth.

Sharing an Eclaire:)!

Belly Laugh!

Sandbox

These are the only pictures I have from our visit to Las Vegas. Wyatt and I took a little trip to where there is no snow the last week of Febuary. It felt so good to get out of the winter! Alas we are back and the wind is a blowing!! Wyatt didn't like the plane, I cannot say I am surprised. As many of you know Wyatt is a very loud indivual and when he is displeased we all know it! Well we made it through the flight, thankfully it was only 80 mins. While in Vegas we unfortunatly gave Laura and her family the flu, so sorry!!!! We went to the park, went shopping, and Laura and I went on a date. Thank you Milas for babysitting! It was really good to see my sister and I was really sad to return to Idaho. I missed Dan but to be honest I really don't see him much and it was really nice to just be around people especially my sis! I wish we lived closer!! Maybe someday.
Oh yeah do you notice Wyatts face. He is definanly an only child. He likes his space. Just wait Wyatt just you wait ha ha ha!!

A bit of everything

Dan and I went to the Sweathearts ball at the school. I felt like we were chaperones at a highschool dance. The kids there seemed pretty young like maybe ten years younger than me. Wyatt is crawling and climbing. Dan got me a ring for Valentines day at his jewelry job. The managers there love him so much they just gave him this $600 for free! Yippee for me!
